(KNSI) — Traut Companies has moved to a new location in St. Joseph.

Traut Companies once called Waite Park home, but they outgrew the five-acre location and broke ground last July on an over 13-acre site with a 24,000 square foot building. That building is more than twice the size of its old facility. The new location is 32640 County Road 133 in Saint Joseph.

Mark Traut said they have sixty employees, but more people may be hired at the new location. “Our people are amazing, every one of them. I wouldn’t replace any of them.” Mark Traut and his cousin Dave came into ownership in 1982 after Mark’s dad Marvin and twin brother Melvin started Traut together in 1959.

The business began with one drill rig in 1982 and today owns and operates ten drill rigs and eighty fleet vehicles, attachments, and trailers.

Traut Companies offers municipal and commercial well drilling services and products, irrigation for farm and lawn, residential products and services, residential well drilling, water treatment, dual rotary, sonic, and geothermal well drilling and features a full-service state-certified water testing laboratory.
